The Black Christian Nationalists (BCN) who also self-imploded, believed in the self-reliance of nation building, and who were instrumental in the election of Detroit’s Coleman Young were also proudly addicted to Garvey’s thesis: “The industrious and adventurous believe that whatsoever others have done it can do.”
