Eventually narrated by a homeless man in Valdosta, GA.

There were seven of them on or standing around two green park benches. They were sandwiched in by a hospital and auditorium, ambulance companies, strip malls, and two streets which were busy daily.

Few passer byers missed this on their daily way to work. The only changes would be the number of people with carts, piles of blankets, a backpack or two, and even a tent or two.

Some were drifters but a few were regulars. Regular enough to worry about as the Big Cold approached the South where a week ago in December 2022 these five men and two women were without jackets, coats, or sleeping under piles of blankets.

Anyway, bored people talked about both important and unimportant matters just like people who were too busy or happy to be bored.

This is what one of them said.

“Man, Insubordinate has been slept on forever. He more gangsta dan most of gangstas and it’s all on Youtube.”

“It’s a trip man, he ain’t never been arrested for any of those bodies.”

“Now he has this dude that ain’t nobody ever heard of can Rap or sing like hundreds of different artists, man or woman.”

He paused for effect, one smiled and five others looked doubtful.

“Don’t look at me like I’m crazy, it’s all on the Tube. Peep this though. Africula does two different singers at two different places at the same time.”

At some point, the speaker had $20 to buy his government tablet which would suddenly not work in a year and which had finally loaded the 3-minute clip the homeless sage promised would blow their mind even more.

With the volume all the way up, the clip played as Insubordinate said,

“If you don’t pray and act like John Brown then you ain’t a real Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Zoroastrian, Five Percenter, Black Nationalist, or anything else philosophical or philosophically religious. All on the short list of groups that have not effectively lifted Native Black Americans.”

“Although guilty too, some may be spiritual and connected to some sacred cosmic energy source or God that some extremely flawed man created but you are not connected to the Creator.”

“John Brown was.”
